Van Dusen Botanical Garden is nestled in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood in Vancouver, BC and offers its visitors the chance to sneak away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Granville and Oak Streets.  Opened in 1975 and named for local lumberman and philanthropist  Whitford Julian VanDusen the gardens display plant life from all over the world.  It is easy to spend the day here either trying to see and read all that you can smelling flowers along the way or taking one of the many guided tours to hear a professional’s viewpoint or just relaxing on the many fields.  Enjoy lunch at the Shaughnessy Restaurant, purchase plants in the Garden Shop, browse BC’s largest botanical and horticultural library, The Yosef Wosk Library & Resource Centre and take away something special from the well curated gift shop.  If you’re looking for a wedding venue you might want to consider the beautiful setting that is Van Dusen.

Being playful among the trees

Cooling off in a shallow pool

Don’t you just love waterfalls?

Lily pads aplenty
